Inspired by Jennifer

Well, I know I haven't posted since the Memphis Tigers lost the game on Monday night, so I decided to do a post, but just not about the game(not yet).

Jennifer S.(she is listed on the right of the page) did a blog today about interesting facts about herself that we may or may not know. So, I loved reading it and decided to do one myself, so here it goes....

-I bite my nails ALL the time. I know some people think it is gross, and I guess it is, but I can't stop!
-I played basketball from the time I was around 5 until about 12 or 13. Usually through the church, but also in middle school for a little bit.
-One of my big regrets is that I stopped playing basketball so that I could be in the band. However, I am thankful for my many years in band because it paid my way through college, but I still think I could have been one heck of a bball player!
-I was never a University of Memphis basketball fan until I started going there. Since then, I can't get enough!! My favorite player since '99 is Earl Barron! I don't know why, but I just loved him in college and I am so proud he is playing in the NBA now(for Miami Heat). I love so many of the guys on the team this year(D. Rose, CDR, Joey, Antonio Anderson), but Earl will always be #1 for me.
-I miss playing basketball so much. It was great exercise and lost of fun.
-I have never broken a bone before, but I have had stitches 3 times total. (1. I busted my head when I was around 10, 2. While I was a freshmen in college, I was living in the dorms and cut my finger on a tuna can top while trying to stuff the trash a LITTLE more down so we didnt have to take it out so soon, and 3. when I had Tatum)
-I am a very thrifty shopper(thanks to my mom), but there are a few things I will splurge(is that how you spell it?) on... jeans and tennis shoes!
-I probably splurge way too much on Tatum's clothes. She has way too many clothes and I have probaby spent way too much on them, but I feel that she is worth every penny.
-All through college I bought a new pair of running shoes every 6 months and spent around $100 a pair! I don't run at all either. What can I say, I am a jeans, t-shirt, and tennis shoes kind of gal.
-I LOVE watermelon! I could seriously eat a whole one all by myself!
-I rarely/never answer a phone number that I don't recognize. And then if they don't leave a message then it wasn't TOO important.
-I hate cleaning and really want Antonio to let me get a maid again...hint hint....my birthday is next week! We had one before Tatum, but can't have one now(according to him). That doesn't make sense to me, does it to you?
-I refuse to wear anything that I will have to wear navy shoes. I don't know why, I just don't like navy shoes. I think this stems from college days when I had an outfit that required navy shoes and when I bought them they were not the right shade of navy and still didn't match. Since then I have never bought them and never plan to again!
-I always buy at least 2 Mary Higgins Clark books when I go on vacation so that I will have something to read. I can finish her books so fast, but that is really the only time I read. My sister also likes her, so we can trade out books which is nice. I took 3 books on our honeymoon to Costa Rica and had them all read within 3 days. I was so mad because it wasn't like I could go buy more.
-When Antonio and I go anywhere, I usually drive. I think he drives like 'Grandpa Moses' so I would rather drive than ride.
-Antonio and I have started going to the gym on a regular basis. He goes at 5:30 in the morning most days and then goes again with me in the afternoon cause he doesn't get to do too much in the mornings since he has to be at work by 7am. I have been going for about a month now and I am very proud of myself.
-I have had my ears pierced twice and my second hole pierced twice, however I never wear earrings.
-The only jewelry I wear(my wedding rings and a bracelet with Tatum's name on it) I wear ALL the time. I sleep in it, work out in it, and bathe in it too. Every once in a while I will wear a necklace, but that is rare too. I think I look funny with bracelets, necklaces, and earrings on. It just looks like too much to me, but I always notice how nice other girls look when they accessorize.
-I like to shop but I am horrible about returning things if I don't like them or they don't fit. I have an outfit that I bought for Easter 2 years ago, but when easter rolled around I was preggers and it has still never been worn, but that is because I still can't fit into it.
-I still have lots of my 'skinny clothes' from before I had Tatum and even before that. I am determined to get into some of them even if I don't get down to all of them. I have one pair of jeans that I plan to keep forever because they were VERY expensive(I didn't buy them, don't worry) and because I want to show Tatum how skinny I was in college. (I know, it's stupid, but oh well)
-I have been getting migranes since I was in high school, however they were not diagnosed until I was in college. When I lived at home my mom used that carpet powder stuff before she vaccumed and I would tell her not to because it hurt my head, but she thought I was crazy and did it anyway. She was the same way with all of the smelly candles too.
-I am the WORST decorator in the world when it comes to our house. I can't look at things and tell where they should go. I am just horrible at it. Thank goodness for Eliana(my sis-in-law), she helped me with Tatum's room and that is the only reason there is anything on her wall!
-I TiVo way too many shows...Big Brother, Survivor, Oprah, Dr. Phil, The View, Regis and Kelly, The Hills, Real World, The Ultimate Fight Club, Care Bears, etc. However, I usually don't watch them. It depends on what the topic of the show that day is. I do watch all of my reality tv though.
-I am such a kid when it gets close to my birthday. I remind Antonio like everyday for a week or two and he gets so irritated with me. I guess this is my parent's fault. They were always so great at making us feel special for our birthdays. By the way, my birthday is coming up, it is April 20th!!
-I love to shop for other people. This could be Christmas, birthdays, babies, weddings, etc. I think I am very thoughtful when it comes to gifts, and I like to see people's reactions when I think I have gotten a present they will LOVE!
-I still love Britney Spears. I know, I know...I don't care what you think, I have always(and always will) love her.
-I secretly wish N'SYNC would get back together. That would be just a dream come true! I mean New Kids on the Block are back, so it IS possible that it will happen one day!
-I wish I could sing well.
-Growing up, I always wished that I could tumble(ya know, all that gymnastics stuff). So now, I love to watch the men's and women's gymnastics competitions in the Olympics.
-I love the beach, but HATE the sand!!! I will not lay out on the beach or sit or anything. I will walk on the beach and take pictures, but that's about it. So, anytime we go on a beach vacation to Florida, Costa Rica, Colombia, or anywhere else, you will find me at the pool(because there MUST be a pool or I don't think I would go).
-I recently gave up all sodas. This is HUGE for me. I think it had a little bit to do with my miscarriage and a little bit to do with me starting to go to the gym. Antonio and I are really trying to eat better. I have now started allowing myself to have no more than 1 soda(usually Diet Dr. Pepper) a week, but I usually don't even drink that one.
-I also gave up sweet tea about a month ago. I was in a Dr's office and he asked me why I was drinking my calories. It made sense, so I stopped drinking them.
-I have to straighten my hair every morning with a straightening iron. Even when it is going up in a pony tail, I still straighten it. However, I was born with stick straight hair and only got a little wave to my hair after I was pregnant with Tatum.
-I hate this, but when I see someone crying(especially someone that I care about) it makes me cry. I hate this and feel like such a dork because I am NOT a cute cryer. Yes, I do the 'ugly cry'!
-I don't think I could live without my cell phone and computer and probably tv too.
-I love Samuel L. Jackson movies. My favorites are 'Rules of Engagement' and '187'. I love girly movies, but prefer military movies like 'Rules of Engagment'. One of my other favorite movies is 'The Pest'.
-I got my tongue pierced when I was in college, but took it out my senior year.
-I have gotten my belly button pierced twice. Once on my 18th birthday and I got it done again about 3 months ago because I had to take it out when I was pregnant with Tatum.
-I am scared of water that I can't see the bottom. When I go to the lake, I am always scared that I will jump into a nest of snakes. When I am in the ocean, I am scared of going too far out and getting swept out and also of all the critters that live in the ocean.
-I like learning about different religions and the different beliefs each one has. I feel that this makes me stronger as a Christian because I will always look up these things in my Bible after a discussion and if I can't find it there then I will go to my Dad and ask him.
-I HATE being late. I feel like it is so rude to walk in late to some things and usually I am the one that is WAY too early. I am talking about things like weddings, appts, dinners, etc. and not like hanging out and stuff.
-I feel like I worry way too much about the future now that Tatum is here. I don't think I worried as much before her. I am constantly trying to figure out where she is going to go to school, if we will be able to afford another child, are we doing things right, etc.
-I am VERY stubborn about things especially when I think I am right. I will argue to my death if I think I am right....just ask Antonio.
-I love instant gratification which is probably why I guess working out has always been so hard for me.
-I love to hear other mommies' stories about things they struggle with. This makes me feel like I am normal and not alone.
-I weigh myself on the scales every morning and most nights.
-My favorite subject in school was math(Calculus), but I think as the years go by and I use it less and less, my math skills are getting worse and worse.
-I never went on a Senior Trip in high school or any Fall Break and Spring Break trips in college. When I would calculate how much money I would spend, I just couldn't do it. I don't regret it though.
-I am usually in bed, asleep by 9 or 9:30.
-I love living in Memphis and don't think we will ever move out of the area.
-I once owned an iguana. It was a gift from a boyfriend in high school. When we broke up, I gave it back to him.

That's about 50 things about me that you didn't know before you read this. I guess that's it for now. I am sure you know WAY more about me than you probably wanted to know. I would love to read about other people's interesting things.

Nicole-I totally agree. I read Jennifer's and loved it but thought I wouldn't have anything to list. However, once I got started, I couldn't stop. In fact, I keep thinking of more things I should have included, so there MAY be a part 2....lol

You need to start on yours too!

"I have never broken a bone before" - now you're just inviting trouble.

Weigh yourself everyday and night... I assume you're conscientious enough to pee before you do it, right? That's coming from Mr. OCD.

"I have gotten my belly button pierced..." -- OMG, this is the hottest thing I've heard in months.
