I will give you a quick rundown of what you are looking at.
The first day I got to Miami, last Sunday, a few of us got in around noon and headed to spend time at the pool eating lunch and laying out. We spotted a guy wearing a speedo and giggled a bit at it and I had to take a picture, so when he headed to get a drink, I told Christy that I was going to 'take a pic of her' so that I could capture him....
....and just in case you missed it.....here is the close up!
In an earlier post, I talked about how I was 'diagnosed with diabetes' and was given a kit of things I would need for a week. Here are some of the items...
Of course, here is my blood glucose meter that I used about 6 times a day!
Next is my carb counting book. I must say that I have seen different ones over the past year, but I REALLY like this one. I was easy to use and also has a section where it lists restaurants too if you eat out. If anyone would like one of these, let me know. You can order it for like $8 on their website, but I am guessing you can get them at a bookstore too.
Here are my syringes I used to take insulin shots..
My "insulin" aka saline...
My 'metformin' aka Jelly Bellies...
As you may or may not know, if someone has diabetes, there are complications that can result if they are not well controlled such as eye sight problems and hand and feet problems. One of the days that we came in, we were given complications. Some of us had to wear gloves to eat breakfast, some had to wear glasses that made their eye sight blurry, and some had to be totally blind and wear masks. We all had to put things in our shoes so that it hurt when we walked.

Here is Clay modeling his gloves...
George with his glasses and Clay again with his gloves...
Angie sporting her glasses...
Mary was blind and had to have a little help getting breakfast and eating it.
While I was in Miami, I slept SO good. I would go to bed around 9 and slept great until 5:30 or 6.

While I was in Miami, I slept SO good. I would go to bed around 9 and slept great until 5:30 or 6.
Here are some reasons why...
I LOVE for my room to be cold so I can snuggle up under the covers. As you can see, it was definitely cold in my room. Too bad Antonio won't let me control the thermastat at home!! Of course, then our bill would be HIGH!!!
Next, this bed was so comfy! There were so many pillows on my bed and they were wonderful...
Here is another shot of my room...please excuse the mess...
....and I had to get a shot of the wet bar in my room. As you can see, it was stocked with a little bit of everything. Don't worry, I only used it to cool down my drinks I got at the Walgreens around the corner.
Here is a shot of the entrance into my room. The two doors on the left are two closets and the one to the right is the bathroom. My company sure does spoil us with these amazing hotel rooms!
Miami was a great time and I learned so much, but I was definitely glad to get bach home to Tatum, Antonio, and Maggie.

What the problem with speedos? I think they are sexy!
I bet it hurt to stick yourself so many times! I like your medicine. Wish I had to take jelly beans! Love them things!
It sounds like you had a really neat experience. How many people get to start a business trip with a speedo sighting??
I love that your company has the right mission-to actually put theirselves in the patient's perspective and help care for them the best they know how. I am so proud of you for doing that! I don't know if I could give myself shots and take my glucose like that! Ouch!
Miss u and sooo going to call and catch up maybe monday if you are available!
