Happy Valentine's Day

Antonio, Tatum, Mateo, and I are all heading out in just an hour or so to go to Baton Rouge for the weekend. I have everything packed and it just needs to be loaded into the car (which I plan to do after I finish feeding Mateo).

Since we are going to be gone on Valentine's Day, Antonio sent me some flowers(well the card said Antonio, Tatum, and Mateo sent them) and they were delivered to the house yesterday. I was so excited to get them. Here is a quick picture of them....
I won't be blogging all weekend, but will take TONS of pictures so that I can post them next week. I hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day and spends it with the ones they love!

Mateo Sneezes

Mateo does the funniest thing when he sneezes....he kind of sighs at the end. I don't know how to describe it very well, but I FINALLY caught it on tape so I wanted to share. The video below is about a minute long...the sneezing is right at the beginning. Please ignore my talking....I sound like a dork.

Also, check out the blog below that has pictures from this past weekend.

Another great weekend...

We had another great weekend this past weekend. The weather was great and we took advantage of it and spent lots of time outside.

Tatum is into dressing up. She LOVES to dress up in any and everything she can get her hands on....it doesn't matter if it is my clothes, Antonio's clothes, or anyone elses. Anyway, here are some pictures from Friday night. Tatum had on her PJ's and just added a few things on top of them...

Sunday we walked to the grocery store again, but I didn't take my camera on this walk. However, when we got home, we played outside for a while. Our neighbors on the other side of the fence have some small dogs that bark constantly when we are out back. Tatum wanted to get a good look at what was making all that noise....
Tatum LOVES hats (I think because Antonio wears them all of the time). Tatum is getting Antonio to fix her hat and Maggie is making sure it is done correctly...
Antonio and Maggie
Last week when we went to the grocery store, Mateo rode in his stoller. However this week he didn't want to ride in the stroller, so this is how we went this week.... (I promise he is in there)

Tatum showing Maggie her outside house...
Maggie checking it out....
As you can see, we had another great weekend. This warm weather is GREAT and we love to get out for a walk in our neighborhood. This next weekend we are heading down to New Orleans for some Mardi Gras parades and we are VERY excited to get out of town for a bit. I promise to take LOTS of pictures to share.

Silly Saturday Spent with Friends

I am going to start this blog off with a little bit of a lesson. When going to visit someone in the hospital, ALWAYS double check that you are about to walk into the correct room before you go in.....this is my story.

So, I text Jessica to get her room number. She texts me back and gives it to me before I leave my house. I go pick up some food for Jessica and head up to see her and meet Baby Colin. When I get to the 4th floor, I am saying in my head "441, 441, 441, 441..." I get to Room 441 and knock on the door. I hear a 'come in' so I proceed in. There was a lady on the couch holding the baby, the mom in the bed laying on her side facing away from me, and the nurse standing over her. I thought for a second that the nurse was "checking" her, so I stopped at the door and said i would wait til she got finished. The lady on the couch said "no, come on in. She is getting a massage." So I proceed to go in and walk to the opposite side of the bed. I then lean over and look at the 'mom' in the bed and say, "YOU aren't JESSICA!!" Then I proceed to apologize about 100 times, feel my face turn 100 shades of red, and then walk out the door. I then headed to room 445 (the correct room). I thought I was embarrassed, but okay until a nurse came in 445 right after me and told me she saw me go in the wrong room... She laughed at me and I just laughed along with her. So please learn from my mistake, ALWAYS check the number!

Once I go to the correct room, I calmed down. As soon as we all got in to see Baby Colin, the dr came in to take Colin to circumcize him, so we all waited for a bit. It didnt' take long at all and Baby Colin was back in the room and not crying at all. I held him for a bit and he was quiet a cutie! I didn't get a picture on my camera of me holding him, but Jenn did so IF she ever uploads her pics, I will have to post a picture of me and Colin. He weighed 8 pounds 9 ounces and was over 21 inches long.

Jennifer, who is pregnant and due in May with Baby Luke, held him too. We can't wait to get all the boys together for a picture...Mateo, Colin, and Luke!

Here is Colin. I played with the settings on my camera and took some black and white pictures (which I LOVE) and also some sepia ones.
Jessica looked AWESOME aftering having Colin. She and her husband Scott are going to be the best parents! Jessica is a twin. Her sister, Courtney, is 18 weeks pregnant with her second child in the picture below. (Courtney is on the left and Jessica on the right)
I LOVE this next picture of Jessica kissing Colin. I think it is so sweet and she didn't even know I was taking the picture!
Okay, while we were visiting Jessica, Scott, and Colin in the hospital, we had SO much fun. Cindy, Jennifer, Tim, Courtney, and I were all visiting at the same time. There was this couple out in the hallway that had this BLINGED out baby and they were taking pictures. I was DYING to get a picture of it all, so I made Tim stand in the hall in front of me so that I could PRETEND to take a picture of him but really take a picture of this family. So this is that picture...
Then Cindy said I am SURE if we go down there they will let us take a picture of their baby, so we went down and asked and the proud parents said SURE! So here is baby Gisele..
Then either the mom or dad said "Do you want a picture WITH Gisele??" I, of course, said YES!! and made Cindy jump in the picture with me....so here is Cindy, Baby Gisele, and me...it is pretty funny that Cindy and I happen to be wearing pink too.
This was Gisele's door all decorated. If you can't tell, there is a onsie in the middle with a sash that says "Lil' Miss February". There is also a crown, a purse, and a cell phone to the right.... (you can double click on the picture to enlarge it.)
And on the left are THREE Victoria Secret gift cards. What is a BABY going to do with VS gift cards???
Anyway, we finally left and walked out to the parking lot. It was quiet easy to spot Baby Gisele's car. This was on the back of it....
Cindy, Jenn, Tim, and I had giggled so much about Baby Gisele that we worked up an appetite, so we all went to lunch. When Cindy and I were leaving the parking lot, we looked over and Tim was being interviewed by the local TV station. I HAD to get a picture.
Everyone was making fun of me for taking so many pictures yesterday, but would my stories be as interesting if you couldn't SEE what I was talking about??? I don't think so! We had such a great time and it was nice to get out of the house for a while without any kids. Antonio stayed home with Mateo and Tatum so I could go meet baby Colin.
Anyway, a HUGE congrats to Scott and Jessica. You guys will be GREAT parents!! I can't wait to get the boys together soon.

Another Haircut

I took Tatum to get her hair cut last week by the same girl that cuts my hair. Tatum's hair has gotten really long, but she HATES for us to fix it. It a constant battle with us, so I decided it was time to get it cut...PLUS it needed to be trimmed up and shaped up anyway. Here is a before picture. (Her hair is looking pretty rough because it had been up in a pony tail all day.)

Tatum was so good. She sat up in the chair and was so quiet. It was pretty funny to see her so quiet. Rebecca would ask her a question and she would shake her head yes or no, but would not talk. Rebecca was straightening her hair before she cut it and Tatum couldn't help but turn her head to watch her in the mirror.
Finally a picture of the first cut of this hair cut...
I know I have built up all of this suspense, but I am sad to say that I do not have an official "AFTER" picture yet. I tried to get Tatum to let me take her picture with Rebecca after they were done, but Tatum wouldn't stand still for that picture, so I haven't gotten a good one yet. Rebecca cut off about 3 inches, but Tatum's hair is still about shoulder length. Antonio wanted me to get her hair chin length, but I chickened out at the last minute. I will try to get an after picture soon so I can post it though.

Dr's Visit

I had to take Mateo to the dr this morning. His precious face has been breaking out since last week and I thought if I left it alone (like everyone tells you to do) that it would clear up eventually. However, it has just gotten worse and worse. I finally gave in last night and decided that we needed to go see the dr. I was scared he might be alergic to something and I wasn't treating it.

The dr told me to just put some A&D or lotion on it because part of his face looks so bad it looks chapped. Other than that, the dr. wasn't concerned and said everything was cosmetic and would clear up with a little time.

He also got weighed and (with his clothes on) he weighed 10 pounds 2 ounces, so the breastfeeding is going GREAT! That is very comforting to hear since it didn't go so well with Tatum. A HUGE thanks to all of you that gave great advice when I was about to give up a few weeks ago. The nipple shields were PERFECT and helped when I couldn't take the pain.

I will have to post a picture of his broken out face later along with other pictures.

We plan to have a FUNFILLED family weekend since we are expecting great weather. Other than church Saturday night, we have no plans and that feels great! We are going to have sushi tonight(which I have been wanting for a while) and probably grill out Saturday and Sunday. I will try to take lots of pictures so I can post them next week.

A Few Random Pictures...

We stayed home last night and enjoyed the Super Bowl as a family of 4. We had a few invitations for parties, but we knew Tatum's bedtime would come up during the middle of the game and she has had a horrible cough and runny nose, so we felt it would be best to stay home.

Here is a picture of Tatum during halftime. We picked up a frozen pizza when we walked to the grocery store yesterday(Tatum picked it out) and Tatum has some still on her face...
Tatum was in the mood to take some pictures and she wanted Mateo to join her. You can really see how fair skinned she is compared to Mateo....poor girl.
I was trying to get a picture of Tatum and Mateo's feet together. Antonio wanted his foot in the picture too.
Today, I was trying to get a picture of Mateo smiling. He is finally starting to smile a little, but capturing it on camera has been difficult. This is how most of the pictures look that I took today...
However, I did manage to catch a half smile/grin...

I am sure he was thinking that I was crazy because I was doing any and everything trying to get him to smile while I actually had the camera in my hand.
I do think he is going to be more serious like Antonio. However, we are still early in the game, so maybe that will change.
That's all I have for now. Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!

It's A Beautiful Day...

I know that I haven't taken many pictures of Tatum and Mateo together, so I am trying to be better about that. Tatum LOVES Mateo so much. She gives him kisses, pets his head, points out all of his body parts and tells us what they are, counts his fingers and toes, sings him songs when he cries, and holds his hand in the car when he is screaming(I still need to get a picture of this one because it is precious). However, everytime I ask her if she wants to hold Mateo she says "NO!" and shakes her head. I don't know if she is scared of him or if we have drilled this into her head that she is not to touch unless we are around to help. I guess it is good that she is not trying to carry him around or anything.

Anyway, she finally agreed to hold him yesterday so I could attempt to get a picture. She had been playing dress up with some clothes that my mom gave her, so that is why she has this crazy outfit on. Mateo was not a happy camper, so she wanted to give him a kiss.

Today, I got to take out my best friend, Brandy, for lunch at our annual spot Bahama Breeze. We have gone there every year for the past 5 years I think. It was great catching up with her. She lives only a few streets away from us, but I don't see her as often as I wish I could because she is working and a busy girl. I took my camera, but forgot to take pictures, but let me assure you, the food was great. Mateo also joined us and slept pretty much the whole time.

Today, the weather here was just BEAUTIFUL!!! After I got home from lunch with Brandy, I asked Antonio if wanted to go for a walk and go down to the grocery store. He said sure, so off we went. We took Tatum in her wagon and Mateo in his stroller. We decided to cut down our grocery list for just food that we needed for tonight. Tatum was nice enough to let us put all of our groceries in her wagon. Here are some pictures on our walk back. I failed to get a picture of Mateo, but he slept the whole time!

When we got back home, we let Mateo continue sleeping, and the rest of us took Maggie outside for some playtime.
Maggie and Tatum are such great friends.

Maggie was begging Antonio for a treat.

Now Maggie is REALLY begging for a treat.
Tatum played fetch with Maggie....

Tatum got a little carried away with throwing the ball and hit Maggie in the face. I managed to take a picture at the perfect time to catch Maggies reaction...I don't think she liked it too much.

After playing fetch, Maggie and Tatum played 'hide and seek'......can you find Maggie??
....and then they ran side by side...
.....and then played chase...
...then Tatum sat down to rest.
...this next face says, "I am up to no good!"

As you can see, we had a great afternoon together. We are getting ready to watch the Super Bowl now. Hope you guys enjoyed this beautiful day!
